How FastingCalorie calculates answer cards.

Every answer starts with calories and nutrient signal, then adds real-world context: labels, supplements, medications, appetite behavior, and safety cautions.

Fast Score formula

Fast Score is an editorial clean-fasting score from 0 to 100. It is not a medical score. The decision label is primary; the number makes strictness easier to compare.

Final score = status base score + item-specific adjustment

Item-specific adjustments account for usual serving size, calories, product variability, nutrient signaling, and safety caution. The score never replaces the text decision.

Fast-safe

Zero or near-zero calorie choices that fit a clean fasting window for most goals.

92/100

Use caution

Low-calorie or label-dependent choices where appetite, sweeteners, medication timing, or product variability matters.

60/100

Breaks a fast

Items with meaningful calories, protein, fat, sugar, or amino acids that end a strict clean fast.

25/100

Eating window

Normal foods or supplements that belong after the fasting window opens.

10/100

What we consider

Calories per usual serving
Protein, amino acids, fat, sugar, or alcohol content
Whether the item is a plain food, supplement blend, medication, or behavioral trigger
Clean-fasting strictness versus practical weight-loss fasting
Medical safety cautions for diabetes, medication timing, stimulants, pregnancy, kidney disease, reflux, and blood pressure

Medical boundary

FastingCalorie does not tell users to delay, skip, or stop medication. If a medication label or clinician says to take it with food, the fasting answer is to follow that instruction.

Diabetes medication, insulin, blood pressure medication, seizure medication, antibiotics, pregnancy, eating disorder history, kidney disease, and stimulant-heavy products require clinician guidance.
